Candle Care

To Safely Burn Your Candle

  • Keep the candle out of reach of children and pets.

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Keep wicks trimmed to 5mm, untrimmed wicks can cause smoke.

  • Keep the wick centered at all times.

  • Always trim the wicks before re-lighting.

  • Never burn candles for longer than 3-4 hours at a time.

  • Excessive burn time can lead to glass overheating and cracking.

  • Only burn to 5mm of wax in the bottom of the glass.

  • Never move a burning candle, glass will be hot.

  • Always place candle on a flat, heat resistant surface.

  • Store in a cool dark place away from direct sunlight.

Creating a Burn Memory

When lighting a soy candle for the very first time it's important to allow the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the jar. This first burn should last as long as it takes to do this. If you don't allow the wax to pool on the first burn, you may get wax remaining along the sides of your jar.

Appearance

Our candles are lovingly hand poured, not mass produced.  Although all effort is made to ensure consistency, every candle will be slightly different. When using natural soy wax, sometimes you may notice darker patches or wet spots on your candles. This is not a fault, simply a small blemish where the wax has not adhered to the glass 100%. This does not effect the candle in any way. The top of your candle could also appear slightly uneven, this is a sign of natural soy wax being hand poured.

Candle Storage

Candles are sensitive to temperature and sunlight. Store your candles upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. If you notice moisture droplets on the top of the candle, this simply means the candle is sweating. This can be from heat or humidity and also doesn't affect the candle. To fix this, just gently wipe with dry paper towel.
